Hongkong Post's Privacy Policy Statement

Hongkong Post, as a Data User, respects the Privacy of Personal Data. Hongkong
Post is fully supportive and committed to upholding the spirit of the data protection
principles and to complying with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy)
Ordinance, Cap. 486 (the "Ordinance") in its processing of applications for e-Certs.
For compliance with the requirements of the Ordinance, Hongkong Post has
prepared the following Policy Guidelines on the processing of Personal Data to
ensure compliance by staff members in the strictest standards of security and
confidentiality. The main points of Hongkong Post's policy and practices are
summarized as follows: -

1. Personal data will only be collected for a lawful purpose, and by lawful and fair
means. The personal data will only be transferred to personnel within Hongkong
Post for the purpose of processing an application for e-Cert and for obtaining
details, which will be placed on an e-Cert upon successful application. Subscribers
are informed expressly that it is obligatory for the data referred to in the Subscriber's
application form for e-Cert to be supplied and if such data is not supplied, the
application process cannot be conducted by Hongkong Post;

2. Subscribers have the right to request access to, and correction of data held by
Hongkong Post by contacting the Data Controlling Officer, Management Services
Division, Post Office, 2 Connaught Place, central, Hong Kong (Tel: 2921 2261).
Hongkong Post will aim to handle such requests promptly. Hongkong Post may
charge a fee for complying with each data access request. Hongkong Post will not
charge any fee for correcting data.

3. All reasonably practicable steps will be taken to ensure that the personal data
kept is accurate. Personal data will not be kept longer than is necessary for the
fulfillment of the purpose for which the data was originally collected.

4. All reasonably practicable steps will be taken to ensure that personal data held
are protected against unauthorized or accidental access, processing, erasure, or
other use.

5. By submitting an application form, you expressly agree and consent to disclosure
of your personal data, which will be disclosed in the e-Cert (i.e. including your
subscriber name and e-mail address).
